1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing freewebsiteguy.co.za or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

2. Our services

Free Website Guy provides website design, development, maintenance, hosting setup, support and consulting services to businesses based in South Africa and internationally. Scope of each engagement is defined during the Discovery phase and documented in a written brief.

3. "Free" — what it means

Our service cost is R0.00. We do not charge for design, development, testing, delivery, or ongoing maintenance and support. You are responsible for:

• Domain registration — paid directly to the registrar (typically R100–R250/year)
• Hosting fees — paid directly to the hosting provider (typically R60–R200/month)
• Paid third-party services (e.g. premium fonts, stock imagery, payment gateway fees) — always quoted upfront

We earn no commission or kickback from hosting providers. The cheapest reliable option is always recommended.

4. Client responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete information during Discovery
• Supply content (copy, images, logos) in a timely manner, or authorise us to source/draft it on your behalf
• Review and approve design mockups within reasonable timeframes
• Own and maintain your domain registration and hosting account
• Comply with all applicable SA laws in the content you publish

5. Intellectual property

On project completion and sign-off, full ownership of your website code, design, and content transfers to you. You may modify, host, migrate, or sell your site as you see fit.

We retain the right to showcase completed projects in our portfolio unless you explicitly request otherwise in writing.

Any third-party assets (fonts, stock imagery, plugins) remain subject to their original licenses.

6. Third-party services

We may recommend or integrate third-party services (hosting providers, analytics, payment gateways, email platforms). We are not responsible for the performance, availability, pricing changes, or security of these third parties. You engage them directly.

7. Warranty & disclaimer

We take pride in the quality of our work. Every project is tested for functionality, cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and basic security. If you find a defect in our code within 30 days of launch, we fix it free of charge.

Beyond this, the website is provided "as-is". We do not guarantee specific business outcomes, search rankings, or traffic levels — these depend on factors outside our control.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by SA law, Free Website Guy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities.

Because our service is provided at zero cost, our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to R0 — the amount you paid us.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement at any time by written notice. On termination:

• Work completed up to the point of termination is released to you as-is
• You retain full ownership of all work already delivered and approved
• Any third-party costs already incurred (domain, hosting, premium assets) are non-refundable from those providers

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
